This dog breed has been originated from Germany and has been famous for catching mice and rats.

This breed has also been crossed with pugs in the past along with other German breeds of dogs like German Silky Pinscher.

   The City of Munich was the early home of Affenpinschers. History says that it is also a popular breed of Germany. The name of this amazing dog breed was introduced by the American Kernel Club and it was officially entered into the AKC Stud Book in 1936. The first one that was registered with AKC was named Nollie v. Anwander.
